Кривая, отображающая зависимость между уровнем национального дохода и уровнем процентной ставки при равновесном состоянии реального сектора экономики (инвестиции = сбережениям): 
Кривая IS имеет нисходящее направление, т.е. более низкая процентная ставка стимулирует инвестиции, что в свою очередь ведет к повышению производства и росту дохода через эффект мультипликатора. Однако, для удержания реальной экономики в состоянии равновесия рост инвестиции требуют все больших сбережений. Увеличение сбережений возможно лишь при высоких уровнях дохода. Следовательно, чем ниже процентная ставка, тем выше равновесный уровнь дохода. См. также IS/LM model.
